In line with the Black Desert Supporter event by Pearl Abyss for Black Desert Online SEA, here is a story featuring some Black Desert Supporters.
Philaberto Falasi
How was a Goblin, one who was beholden to others for employment his entire life, able to rise to become the richest of all in Epheria?
It is all thanks to the Falasi Inn where Philaberto worked. It is said that the Falasi family did not have any heir, and 30 years ago the last of the line signed away his wealth and a castle called Falasi to his servant Philaberto before he died of the Black Death. [src]
By the Trading Post
One sunny day at Port Epheria, Florentino took a break from adventuring and decides to take a stroll by Port Epheria.
There, Philaberto Falasi sees him by Port Epheria’s Trading Post.
“Ah, Florentino,” Philaberto said, “It’s good to see you here. What brings you here anyway?”
“Nothing much, just taking a stroll. Working hard as always I see.”
“I do what I can.”
One of the maids leans over to Philaberto, “Please, sir, you have to rest for time to time.”
“She’s right, sir,” the other maid said, “it’s honourable that you’re always hard-working but… you’re always hard-working and little to no time for resting.”
“But I have yet finished sweeping the floor here.”
“That’s what we’re here for, sir,” the two maids exclaimed, “leave the cleaning to us.”
“For the love of Elion,” Philaberto sighs, “always the same conversation for the past 30 years, fine, I have some paperwork to do anyways.”
Shipment
“Oh, but I still have to move these shipments to Sebastian by the port,” Philaberto said as he looks to his right.
“We’ll find someone to move those shipments later, sir,” one of the maids said.
“But these are due later this evening. If only the delivery wasn’t delayed because of the Delphe Castle incident.”
“How about me?” Florentino said, “I’m free today so I can carry the shipment to Sebastian… while you haven’t had someone else to deliver them.”
“I couldn’t possibly have a noble do the lifting.”
“Nonsense! We’re friends, Philaberto, it’s the least I can do.”
With that said, Florentino quickly gets to work. He lifts one of the shipment and carries it to Sebastian at the port… which is… at the bottom of the cliff. Port Epheria was built in a cliff, for him to go to the port, he has to use the stairs at the side. It’s the quickest route but it’s steep, one little slip and it’s goodbye Florentino.
No, not really, just a couple of bruises. Florentino grew up at Calpheon and since he’s a child he always finds a way to break his bones, albeit inadvertently.
Familiar Faces
It’s already afternoon and Florentino is only left with one crate.
“I appreciate your help, Florentino,” Philaberto said, “I’m sorry that I can only provide little help. All of my workers are busy with other matters.”
“Think nothing of it, I’m glad I could help.”
“This is the last of the shipment, I’ll give you a reward for your help.”
“It’s quite alright, Philaberto, no need to repay me.”
By the distance, we see Auraenys of the Leight Family and her friend Chirelle.
“Hey, isn’t that Florentino?” Chirelle said.
Auraenys smiles, “You’re right, it really is him!”
“Should we call him? But he looks busy.”
“Of course we’ll call him. If he’s busy he wouldn’t be standing around,” Auraenys then waves at Florentino, “Hey! Florentino!”
Philaberto looks behind Florentino, where the sound is coming from, “Oh, Lord, what did you do now?”
“What?”
“Look behind you. Two lovely ladies are calling you.” Philaberto points at the two ladies, “You really should just settle for one, you know.”
“I beg your pardon?” Florentino then looks behind him, he then blinks a couple of times, not believing at first on what he’s seeing, “oh… Well, isn’t this a surprise. Excuse me for a moment, Philaberto.”
“And off you go.”
Aura and Chirelle
Florentino then makes his way to the two.
“To what do I owe this honour, Lady Auraenys and Miss Chirelle,” Florentino said as he reaches for their hand to kiss it.
“Didn’t I told you to just call me ‘Aura?’”
“Oh, right, my apologies, Aura.”
“What are you doing here anyway?” Chirelle said.
“Just helping an old friend out while off duty.”
“Let’s hang out when you’re done!” Aura said, “I only have little time left before the annual gala. Are you going to the gala?”
“Sadly, I can’t I’m assigned to go to Valencia by then.”
“Oh… well, this gala will be an even more boring one.”
“I’m sorry…”
“No matter, get a move on, we have no time to lose!”
“Yes, ma’am!” Florentino exclaims then rushes to Philaberto where he gets the last of the shipment, “I’ll see you two at the port, just by Sebastian.”
A Little Push
Florentino is with Aura and Chirelle by the port where they meet with Sebastian, the Guild Wharf Manager of Port Epheria.
“Ah, Florentino,” Sebastian exclaims while stroking his chin with his left hand, “you’re back with the last of the shipment, I presume?”
“That’s right, last of Philaberto Falasi’s shipment, right on schedule.”
“Good, man! I knew I can rely on you. Philaberto’s alright but I know he’s too busy for his own good. It’s a good thing you’re there.”
“Just doing my part to help an old friend.”
“Oh, where are my manners?” Sebastian said as he faces Aura and Chirelle, “Ladies, Sebastian at your service.”
“Hello,” Aura said while Chirelle nods.
Sebastian then turns to Florentino, puts his arm around his neck to drag him up close and whispers, “Oi, why are you with those two? And keeping them for yourself too.”
“I beg your pardon?” Florentino whispers as well.
“Don’t hog them all for yourself!”
“What are you talking about?”
“Playing dumb I see…” Sebastian then laughs.
“What’s going on?” Aura and Chirelle both said at the same time while also looking confused with what’s happening.
“No matter,” Sebastian then lets go of Florentino, “I’ll give Philaberto the 2nd half of the payment.”
“And you,” Sebastian then looks at Florentino and pats his back hard, “lighten up, will you? I’m only joking.”
Sebastian pats Florentino’s back so hard that he accidentally pushes him off the port and into the water. Aura and Chirelle are laughing at what just happened.
“My coat!” Florentino exclaims.
Taking a Swim
“Well, I’ll be going now to Philaberto,” Sebastian then turns to the two ladies, “ladies, have a great evening.”
As Sebastian left the scene, Aura leans a little to look for Florentino by the water, “How’s the water?”
Florentino has already calmed down because of the cold seawater, “It’s… quite nice, actually. A little cold but it’s alright.”
“Let’s jump in,” Chirelle said.
“What? Are you crazy?” Aura said but it’s already too late, Chirelle already jumped down and made a huge splash.
“You know what?” Aura said as she removes her hat, “Let me join in on the fun as well.”
Aura then jumps down to the water.
“Well… this is something…” Florentino said, “I’m sorry about your dresses.”
“It’s fine,” Aura said, “Let’s have fun!”
Florentino laughs, “Fine, let’s have some fun,” he then looks above to look at the stars.
